The Birthday Book Tag

Today is my birthday! It’s a rainy, cold day here in Alabama. It would be a great day to stay in. We even had a chance of snow in the forecast, but my area didn’t get any.

I wasn’t planning to make a post today, but I found The Birthday Book Tag. It looked like a lot of fun, so here we go! I’m not sure who created it, but I saw it on The Bibliophile Girl (thebibliophilegirluk.com).

Birthday Cake-a book with a plot that seems cliche but you adore it anyway.

Ummmm. I’m going to have to think about this one. Ok, so I’ve decided on The Magnolia League. It’s very early Y.A. and it shows. But I love it. There are so many tropes, but it’s so good!

Party Guests-your most anticipated book release this year.

There are so many good releases this year! I’m probably most excited about Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff. I can’t wait to see what Kristoff has planned.

Birthday Presents- a book that surprised you with how much you loved it.

Jayne Eyre. I don’t think I had a full concept of what it was about before reading it. It was so much more than what I expected. I listened to it on audiobook, but I think I’m ready to read it physically.

The Happy Birthday Song- a book that certainly deserved all the hype it got.

My Dark Vanessa. It’s a hard read, but a good read.

Happy Music- a book with some very beautiful and truly memorable quotes.

The entire Winternight Trilogy is beautiful. Some of my favorite quotes have come from this series.

Getting Older- a book that you read a long time ago, but you think that you would appreciate it more if you read it as a more mature reader

The Grapes of Wrath. I loved it in high school, but I would like to find the time to read it again. It’s a chunk though, so I’m not sure that I ever will.

Sweet Birthday Memories- a book that kept you incredibly happy during a sad or demanding period of your life.

I read the A Song of Ice and Fire series during college. It was a really hard semester and these books kept me sane. Now if George R.R. Martin would finish the series.

So that wraps up The Birthday Book Tag. If you have a birthday soon, I tag you!
