2020 is coming to an end. Thank God! It’s time to start wrapping up the challenges set for this year. I wanted to complete the Modern Mrs. Darcy Challenge and the Goodread’s Challenge of 75 books. I did complete the Modern Mrs. Darcy Challenge in October, but I’m still a few books away from reaching my goal of 75. I’m going to be pushed, but I think I can complete it using these tips.
Listen to Audiobooks
This is a great way to start marking books off your list. You can listen to them while doing everyday tasks. I listen to them when I shower, drive, and cook supper. If you bullet journal, or plan, that’s a good time to listen to them as well. They really fly by so it’s a great way to catch up quickly while still being productive.
Read Graphic Novels
Graphic novels are a new format for me, but I’ve really been enjoying them. They are generally quick reads. I usually can complete one in an hour or two. I didn’t think I would ever find graphic novels satisfying, but I was wrong. There are a lot of great ones out there. If you need a few to read keep an eye out for my graphic novel recommendations post that will be coming soon!
Check Out Novellas
I remember in 2010 when novellas were a huge deal. All the popular books had spin-off novellas. Since they are shorter than a regular novel they were easy to fly through. There are still a lot of great novellas out there. I’ve been meaning to check out Seanan McGuire’s Wayward Children series and now would be a great time to start it.
I hope those tips help. I’m going to have to buckle down and use a few of my own tips. I was doing well at the start of the year, but then a major reading slump happened. How are you doing on your challenges? If you have any tips let me know in the comments.
