Reader Problems Book Tag

I found the Reader Problems Book Tag on paperpizzablog.com. It looked like so much fun! So here are my answers.

You have 20,000 books on your TBR, how in the world do you decide what to read next?

I’m a mood reader. I read the synopsis and I wait until I find the one that suits my mood. I truly believe a book will find you at the right time.

You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?

I put them down. Again, I am a mood reader, and sometimes my mood changes. I will go into a massive reading slump if I try to force it. I will literally procrastinate reading it. It’s easier on my just to find a book that I like.

The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?

I try to catch up. Graphic novels and audio books are life savers. *Stay tuned for a shameless plug.* I am going to have a post later in the year on this subject. If you want to see it, don’t forget to subscribe!

The covers of a series you love don’t match. How do you cope?

For some reason, this doesn’t bother me all that much. I have always bought books at used bookstores and different locations, so I couldn’t be too picky. There are certain series that I want to repurchase to have matching covers, but it’s not high on my priority list.

Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?

My friend, Teresa, and I have similar reading tastes. I think she would feel my pain.

You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal?

I stop reading. I must not show weakness, hahaha.

The sequel to a book you loved just came out, but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to re-read it?

I am not a re-reader. I just jump into the sequel. Usually, I start remembering details as soon as I return to the world.

You do not want anyone to borrow your books. How do you politely say no when someone asks?

I am bad a this word, no. I really am. I’d probably buy them a copy to preserve my collection. Plus, I enjoy gift giving. It’s a win-win.

You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?

Most of the time I just keep trying books until I find one that I can’t put down. It’s a hard process though. I hate reading slumps.

There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?

I want to say I go to the library, but I’m not great at that. I will end up buying all of them. Not at one time though. Honestly, my self control sucks.

After you purchase all of these books that you are dying to read, how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?

I have actually been decent at reading the books I buy. Again, mood reader, so I read them relatively soon after buying them. I get too excited to wait.

So, that’s the end of the Reader Problems Book Tag! It was a ton of fun. I have really been loving tags recently. If you want to participate I tag you. Let me know if you play along in the comments.
